A movement in literature, music and art featuring futuristic or science fiction themes which incorporate elements of black history and culture.
Picha is driven by visual content that showcases the contemporary side of Africaand people of the African diaspora. Each year they run a campaign focused arounda particular theme to get a community of photographers all around the continentinspired and involved. "Future Focus" prompted visual creatives to show the future through an African lens.
The best of the submissions were handpicked by Daron Bandeira, a Ghana-based influencer, photographer, art director and founder of the contemporary creative platform, Afrobougee.
This photographic exhibition, showcased in Cape Town, Nairobi, Accra and Seattle, aims to provide African photographers with a platform to prove that local creativesare more than capable of producing work worthy of global attention.
All work will be for sale and can be ordered in various sizes, framed or unframed in different formats.
